Play vision Kindercentrum vzw
1. Free play
We respond to children’s expectations regarding the use of their free time. Children experience time in our childcare as: free time, fun, relaxation, experimentation, making their own choices about what, when and with whom.
2. Right to play
We encourage the natural curiosity and creativity of our children by providing as much “open-ended” toys as possible. Children need a stimulating play environment that offers them the freedom to explore on their own. A child who takes risks shows autonomy, courage, initiative and creativity. They are on the edge of their capabilities, and new skills are within their reach.
3. Right to move
We also choose to play as much as possible outdoors and in nature, offering children a “wow” experience that gives them a sense of freedom, initiative and creativity. Adventurous play leads to joy in playing. The essence of adventurous play is that the choice always lies with the children themselves. The choice to participate or not, the choice of how far they go or in what way they engage in the adventure. Outdoor play is healthy and gets children moving.
At each location, we ensure there are lots of opportunities for movement. We provide various balance bikes, tricycles, inline skates, roller skates, skateboards and scooters for children of all ages – in short, plenty of equipment to get the children active and moving.
4. Right to rest
We aim to provide children with a safe haven where they can be themselves and grow and develop at their own pace. In addition to designated moments of rest, we believe it is important to create spaces for relaxation. That's why we have a reading corner, cozy resting areas or comfortable sofas available in each location. These spaces allow children who need it to take a moment to relax and unwind.
5. Right to develop
We strive to create a healthy environment that is PLAYFUL, CHALLENGING and SAFE, with a diverse range of activities. Our goal of play is to encourage maximum play for the sake of play itself, to be engaged without the pressure to perform. Trying, experimenting, experiencing and daring are the 4 pillars that are central to our approach.
